Darryl Beckmann, the deputy commissioner of American Bureau of Reclamation, visited Kung Long on Nov. 13th. He is the highest ranking official that has visited Taiwan in the long history of water resources cooperation between the two countries. The construction of Taiwan’s famous Tseng Wen and Shi Men reservoirs were both under the assistance and guidance of the American Bureau of Reclamation.

Darryl Beckmann was pleasantly surprised by the development of the deep sea water industry in Taiwan, which went from zero to full-fledged industry within just three years. In the US, only Hawaii has deep sea water. However, unlike the broad applications of DSW in Taiwan, the industry in Hawaii is more focused on aquaculture and thermal energy conversion.
